Heroes Collection

Those who strive to achieve great things.

The Corporate Magician

(1998), Acrylic on board, 12” x 16”

This is an homage to my husband.  He has been a Management Consultant for many years, being asked by CEOs to assist in facilitating solutions in very difficult corporate environments-hence, The Corporate Magician.  The checkerboard floor and architecture represent the corporate environment and the magician drops in to “save” the day.

The Relentless Achiever

(1999), Acrylic on Paper, 16” x 24”

The hero who has strived his entire life/career to reach/achieve life’s gold ring only to have it out of reach.  The grass checkerboard represents the game of life, the tree the tree of life, the owl represents knowledge and wisdom.  The twilight in the sky represents this hero’s twilight of life.

The Relentless Achiever II

(2023), Acrylic on Canvas, 6” x 6”

Have you ever found yourself “stopping” in order to reassess what you’re doing in life? This little acrylic painting, called Relentless Achiever II, illustrates this type of “stopping” for me – to stop relentlessly achieving, to stop continually reaching for the brass ring in the corporate world before redirecting my career in fine art. Relentless Achiever II is based on my larger acrylic painting, Relentless Achiever, done in 1999, during major changes in my life.

This little painting is a part of the Hardy Gallery (Ephraim, WI) and the Artist’s Guild (Sturgeon Bay, WI) Community Mosaic Project-now in its 16th year. The concept is twofold:  to raise awareness of the visual arts by reaching out to the local community and encouraging participation from individuals of all ages and abilities and to provide the Hardy with funds through the sale of miniature artworks. The Project is displayed during the months of July and August annually and consists of 300 6” X 6” works of art that collectively create a large-scale mosaic.

My message is to step back, reflect and recalibrate your journey. It is not healthy to chase the brass ring at the expense of doing what you really love to do.

The Relentless Achiever III

(2024), Acrylic on Canvas, 6” x 6”

Have you ever found yourself “stopping” in order to reassess what you’re doing in life? This little acrylic painting, called The Relentless Achiever III, illustrates a major life-stop for me – to stop relentlessly achieving, to stop continually reaching for the brass ring in life (the corporate world) before redirecting my career in fine art. The Relentless Achiever III is based upon my larger acrylic painting, The Relentless Achiever, completed in 1999.

My message is to step back, reflect and recalibrate your journey.  It is never healthy to chase the brass ring at the expense of doing what you really live to do.
